Dry Shampoo

Dirty hair? Don’t care.

This dry shampoo is so easy to make, it’s laughable! But, the impact it can have on your morning routine is huge! We don’t always have time to wash our hair when we want to, but we definitely don’t want to be walking around looking it. I used this camping last summer when I had no access to a shower for nearly a week and although my hair was 90% dry shampoo by the end, it didn’t look greasy at all! My favorite thing about this is how easy it is to adjust to YOUR hair color!

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Arrowroot Powder – This soaks up the grease like a champ! Cornstarch works in a pinch.
  • Cocao Powder – This will keep you from looking like you’re going grey.
  • Cinnamon – This add-on is for the redheads out there. Plus, it smells yummy!
  • Tea Tree Essential Oil – Tea tree is wonderful for our scalp. It can help balance things out, keeping away both the greasies and flaking issues. The slight tingle it provides is also invigorating.

HOW TO MAKE IT

BLONDES

Put a few TBSP of arrowroot powder in a tin or jar. Add just enough cocao powder to match the shade of your hair. Add about 5 drops of tea tree per TBSP of powder and mix.

BRUNETTES

Fill a tin or jar with equal parts arrowroot powder and cacao (1-2TBSP of each). Add cacao powder as needed to match your shade. Add about 5 drops of tea tree per TBSP of powder and mix.

REDHEADS

Fill a tin or jar with equal parts arrowroot powder and cacao (1-2TBSP of each). Add cinnamon to match your shade. Add about 5 drops of tea tree per TBSP of powder and mix.

HOW TO USE IT

I use a blush brush to apply mine to the roots of my hair and use my fingertips and a comb to blend it in. That’s it! Super simple. No one will ever know you didn’t wash you hair!
